Self-control, is our ability to regulate our emotions , behavior and thoughts effectively in a way that we are able to control immediate impulse and temptations. One needs to be able to not act our of immediate impulse if they want to attain their specific goals. When you are hunting there are risks involved and you didn't also want to miss out on your goal to catch something. If you act hastily, out of impulse you are likely to miss your short on shooting and scare the animals away or get your self in a dangerous situation.
B- Self Control
Explanation: Self-control is an essential aspect of hunter safety. The way the hunting gun is handled is very important.
Careful shooting is advised at all times.
Humorous passage 1: "It (the umbrella) was made to be carried on the arm like an enormous ornamental bat and to allow one the opportunity to put on British airs as the atmospheric conditions demanded."
Humorous passage 2: "(The umbrella is) An item to be carried in the street, to be used to startle friends and—in the worst of cases—to fend off one’s creditors."
Passage 1 is funny because it compares the umbrella to an ornamental bat, which sounds weird in the first place. Plus, the umbrellas is said to be used by people who want to seem British, which is even more outrageously funny.
Passage 2 is funny because it treats the umbrella as a scary object which can be used even to fend off people you owe money to, which is absurd.
In both passages, the author uses tone and voice in a very witty way: he speaks seriously about absurdity, about unimaginable stuff. It is like an encyclopedia of weird and fun facts. That is what makes it funny: the contrast between a serious tone and larger than life images.
Sexually transmitted diseases are spread by direct contact with bodily fluids.
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are caused by bacteria and viruses that spread through sexual contact.
Infections can be found in body fluids such as semen, on the skin of the genitals and nearby areas, and some also in the mouth, throat and rectum. For this reason, we can say that sexually transmitted diseases are disseminated through direct contact with body fluids.
Some STDs do not cause symptoms. Others can cause discomfort or pain. If left untreated, some can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, chronic pelvic pain and cervical cancer. Over time, HIV suppresses the immune system. Some STDs can also greatly increase the chance of becoming infected with HIV.
STDs spread in a community through an infected person who has sex with an uninfected person. The more sexual partners a person has, the greater the risk of becoming infected or transmitting STDs.
